WHY?

Because every story needs its own unique look. Production design is key to setting the tone and making the film’s world feel real. The production designer plays a major role in worldbuilding and helps shape the film’s visual universe.

WHAT?

Develop the design and look of the sets, manage the department’s budget, assemble the right team, scout locations, design spaces, lead the construction and decoration teams, and work closely with production, director, DoP, set decoration, and costume.

WHEN?

From the first concept idea to the final day of shooting. Production design starts in pre-production and continues throughout filming.

HOW?

With creativity, a strong eye for color, style and story, hands-on knowledge – and a sketchbook full of bold ideas.
