WHAT EXACTLY IS A JOB SHADOWING?
Job Shadowing means orientation. Over three days, you’ll accompany a film professional at work – watching, asking questions, and getting first-hand insight into their daily routine.
Whether on set, in a production office, at a rental house or film distributor – shadows see what really happens when films are made.
Unlike an internship, Job Shadowing focuses on watching rather than doing, thus removing the pressure to start working straight away. Watch, absorb, ask questions, and understand how everything fits together. Some people are discussing the last take, others are fine-tuning the lighting. Everywhere you look there’s something going on.
The aim? To find out whether a job in film (and the film industry) could fit into your life. Job Shadowing is the perfect starting point. You’ll meet people in the industry, ask questions, and experience the diversity of the film world up close. You’ll get a sense of how many different people work together to bring a film to life.

You tell us what you’re interested in, and we’ll show you which jobs fit. You might even stumble upon one you hadn’t heard of yet, but that’s just right for you.
Our aim: to spark your enthusiasm. Experience the everyday life of a film production on set, in the studio, or in the office. Discover jobs that aren’t taught anywhere. Meet film professionals and find concrete paths toward an internship, an apprenticeship, or your own unique start in the industry.
WHO CAN TAKE PART:
- Anyone aged 18 and above – there’s no upper limit
- No prior experience required
- We especially welcome applications from people who have faced discrimination
- The offer is free of charge and unpaid
