WHO?

The prop master is in charge of all the objects actors interact with – known as hand props. Whether it’s a musical instrument, a phone screen, or a massive truck, everything is carefully sourced, chosen, or custom made.

WHY?

Because scenes and actions only feel real when the objects are right. The prop master focuses on those big and small items that bring believability to the story.

WHAT?

Know the script inside out, buy, rent, or make props, adapt them to the shoot’s needs, coordinate with production design, set decoration, costume and on-set props, and stay flexible when things change.

WHEN?

Throughout the production – from prep and filming to breakdown. Including recces and packing marathons.

HOW?

With creativity, a sharp eye, calm under pressure – and a contact list to solve every prop emergency.
