PRODUCTION PHASE:

WHY?

Because every good story needs someone who can ground it in reality – without killing the magic. Producers think ahead, alongside, and sometimes even against the grain to make sure a project works creatively, logistically, and financially.

WHAT?

Producers oversee projects both creatively and organizationally: they coordinate script development, schedules, and budgets, take care of shoot preparations, casting, permits, and daily call sheets. During the shoot and in postproduction, they serve as key points of contact for creatives, departments, and clients.

WHEN?

Usually from early development through to final delivery – and sometimes even beyond, into distribution. Their most intense phases are preproduction and the shoot, but editing and final approvals are also part of their job.

HOW?

With a mix of organizational talent, storytelling instinct, team spirit, resilience, and a sharp eye for what’s actually doable. They think creatively, act solution-oriented – and stay calm, even when things get hectic.
