WHY?
Because post is a complex process involving loads of departments. Without someone keeping an eye on everything, it’s easy to lose control. The post producer holds it all together.
WHAT?
Plan, budget, and oversee the post-production process; coordinate between editing, sound, VFX, and more; negotiate with service providers; and make sure deadlines are met.
WHEN?
After filming ends, and throughout the entire post-production phase. They’re the link between the creative and the technical teams.
HOW?
With strong organizational skills, great communication, and a cool head. They’re the calm at the center of the storm, and they make sure the film gets finished.
