WHY?
Because filmmaking is a complex dance between art, logistics, people, and money. Someone needs to coordinate, structure, and lead the whole operation professionally.
WHAT?
They plan the budget, set up financing, and ensure a healthy cash flow. They handle contracts, hire crew, oversee workflows, and keep the shoot and post-production on track. They’re the key point of contact for broadcasters, funders, distributors, and internal teams.
WHEN?
From development through to final accounting – well beyond the shoot itself. The line producer is involved in every phase: prep, shoot, post, and wrap.
HOW?
With financial know-how, legal understanding, killer organizational skills, great communication and an overview of the whole production – and the ability to make strong, sustainable decisions that fit both creatively and financially.
