WHY?
Because editing a film is so much more than just lining up scenes. It takes someone who can sort, prep, and manage the material – doing initial sound work and handling the technical steps – so the editor can focus on the creative flow.
WHAT?
Import footage, review and sync it, create and update versions of the edit. Keep the project clean, organized, and ready to go so the editor can work efficiently.
WHEN?
As soon as footage comes in from the shoot. Assistant editors are part of the post team from day one and stay involved throughout the whole process, making sure everything runs smoothly.
HOW?
With technical know-how, strong organization skills, and a sense for what the editor needs. Assistant editors are the hub where everything comes together – making sure nothing slows the creative process down.
